Becoming Full of Piss & Vinegar with Kehla G

Episode 20: From Elite Athlete to Human Design Mentor

What happens when you stop filling yourself with the world’s noise and start listening to your own design?

In this episode, I sit down with Kehla G, a Human Design and Gene Keys business mentor who went from competitive rugby athlete to online coach, navigating the Saturn return shift from body to mind with radical self-awareness.

In this episode we explore:

  • Kehla’s journey from elite athlete to Human Design mentor and the Saturn return pivot from a body-focused career as a PE teacher to where she is now

  • How spirituality and embodiment practices are closer than we think; and why grounding into your body is essential for avoiding spiritual bypassing and being “away with the fairies”

  • The power of open throat energy: saying what everyone’s thinking, and how AI can help you externalise your process and find your own voice

  • Why being “full of yourself” means subtracting the world’s conditioning instead of adding more strategies

  • The nuances of sacral response: moving beyond “fuck yes or fuck no” to micro-yeses that build trust

  • Expression beyond words: pre-cognition, reading the room, and how childhood survival skills shape our gifts

  • Creating spaciousness by deleting social media, sitting with loneliness, and discovering what you’re actually full of when you’re being yourself

This conversation is for you if:

  • You’re an entrepreneur who feels like you’re on the edge or ahead of your time

  • You have an “interesting relationship” with your body and are seeking grounding practices

  • You’re bored of being full of everyone else’s strategies and want to orient yourself in your own design

  • You struggle with open centres (especially throat, head, or G centre) and need to understand how to work with the conditioning

  • You’re navigating the tension between doing less and feeling isolated, or between specificity and allowing surprise

  • You want to understand how Human Design and Gene Keys can create sustainable business infrastructure, not just better messaging.

Meet Kehla G:

Kehla G is a human design, gene keys, and AI business mentor based in Victoria, BC, Canada. A 6/2 sacral generator, Kehla supports entrepreneurs in building sustainable businesses by treating them like ecosystems—helping clients orient themselves through their unique design rather than chasing the next strategy.

She’s the host of Built for the Edge, a top 2% podcast with over 500 episodes exploring entrepreneurship, spirituality, and human design.

“Everything in my world is about helping people to become full of themselves because otherwise we are full of the world. Otherwise we’re full of conditioning, otherwise we’re full of the radio and TikTok and Instagram. I am curious what you are full of when you’re being yourself.” — Ebonie Allard

EBONIE :What does being ‘full of yourself’ mean to you? What are you FULL of?

KEHLA: To me, being full of yourself means you’re so full of conviction, confidence, and your own values that there’s no space left to replicate or absorb what others think, say, or do. It’s about being anchored in who you are — unshakable in your truth.

When I’m full of myself, I’m probably a mix of piss and vinegar in the best, most tongue-in-cheek way. But at my core, I’m full of conviction, resilience, and devotion — that’s the fuel that drives everything I do.

EBONIE: What do you see as the most important or valuable shift or change you’ve made for yourself in your adult life?

KEHLA: One of the biggest shifts I’ve made in the last couple of years has been recognising how much of my communication used to come from childhood wounding. No surprise there — but it really shaped how I articulated myself, often through my ego. I’m fiery by nature and have a sharp tongue, and I can see now how that was a protective mechanism that sometimes cut off intimacy and connection.

Over the last two years, I’ve become much more intentional with my communication and compassion — especially when things feel triggering. I’ve also had to release friendships that no longer matched the level of growth and honesty I live by. My “piss and vinegar” vibe can be a lot for some people — it’s magnetic, but it can also be confronting. I realised that some people loved being around that energy but weren’t actually ready to meet it within themselves.

Ending those friendships created space for relationships where my fire doesn’t need to be dimmed — where I can be fully myself and feel that same energy reflected back.

EBONIE: Complete this sentence: “At my essence I am full of .....”

KEHLA: piss and vinegar [lol]

“When we use our phones all the time and we are responding to these false dopamine hits, it's screwing our sacral because we are not able to fine tune to the subtle signals. We need something to be big before we respond to it." Kehla G
