What happens when a type-A perfectionist finally stops fighting her body and starts listening?
In this episode, I sit down with Hope Pedraza; functional diagnostic nutrition practitioner and energetics guide… for a raw conversation about the disconnection so many high-achieving women feel from their own bodies.
We explore how conservative upbringings, medical gaslighting, and the relentless pursuit of control can dim our inner spark, and what it actually takes to reignite it.
Hope shares parts of her own journey from disordered eating and divorce to discovering her voice, her power, and her purpose at the intersection of science and spirituality.
In this episode we explore:
The connection between body disconnection and collective numbness/apathy
Why “following the rules” doesn’t actually create safety
How divorce became the catalyst for Hope’s spiritual awakening
The difference between power over and power to
What it means to have a reflector mind and an unconscious body in Human Design
Why your throat chakra and self-expression are directly linked to inflammation
The Phoenix energy we’re all being called into as we approach 2027
How to rebuild trust with a body you’ve ignored for years
This conversation is for you if:
You’ve spent years controlling, criticising, or disconnecting from your body
You’ve experienced medical gaslighting and lost trust in yourself as a result
You know there’s a spark inside you that’s been dimmed and you’re ready to reclaim it

You grew up being the “good girl” and are now finding your voice

You’re ready to stop waiting until you “figure your body out” to start living

Ebonie and Hope’s Charts for reference:
"If you haven't spoken to your body for years, it's not gonna tell you its secrets. Give it time, give it reason to believe you. If your body says 'I'm tired, rest' and you go 'yeah, later' that's not building a relationship. That's breaking the trust."

EBONIE: What does being ‘full of yourself’ mean to you? What are you FULL of?
HOPE: Being full of myself means bringing every piece of me into this life and letting every single piece of me be present in every single moment without shame, guilt or judgement. Being full of myself means being me unapologetically, showing up unapologetically, and living my true authenticity out loud. I am full of love, light, the desire to serve, sacred rage for the injustices in this world, and the passion to do something about it.
EBONIE: What do you see as the most important or valuable shift or change you’ve made for yourself in your adult life?
HOPE: Breaking down the walls that kept me confined to playing the “good girl” narrative and living out other people’s expectations and rules. This was a journey through divorce, finding myself, discovering how to love myself, a deep dive into my human design, and my own spiritual awakening and deconstruction of the strict religions rules I had grown up with.
EBONIE: Complete this sentence: “At my essence I am full of .....”
HOPE: Spirit.
